Summary

The Board of County Commissioners established a $10 million competitive grant opportunity for Douglas County schools in need of additional funding to increase safety for their students and faculty. Of those granted funds, $6,823,182 will be awarded to the Douglas County School District (DCSD) for school physical security and supportive mental health resources for projects that can improve Douglas County school safety.

Board Action

It is staff's recommendation that the School Safety and Protection and Mental Health Services IGA be approved by the Board of County Commissioners as it complies with all County approval standards and procedural guidelines.
